The 42-year-old woman from Romford was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated common assault and a racially aggravated public order offence, after the alleged abuse took place on a packed Central Line train between St Paul's and Mile End stations.

British Transport Police said she was  arrested after attending a police station in Essex,.

Going into the background of the issue, the officers said the video on YouTube was brought to their notice on 24 January.

Pin-up Man Pinned Down

Meanwhile, a former BNP member has been convicted for a religiously aggravated public order offence. He was accused of putting anti-Islamic literature in his window. Lincoln magistrates sent the case to Lincoln Crown Court for sentencing after convicting Darren Conway, 44.

He was arrested in April last year after a complaint about the posters was lodged by a nearby shop worker. Conway admitted at the time of the offence he was a BNP member and also an English Defence League supporter, but insisted he had since left the BNP.

The material on his windows was described as grossly offensive towards the Muslim faith by Edward Johnson, prosecuting. The court was told he downloaded most of the material from the internet.

Conway of Heaton Street, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, insisted he displayed the posters for compelling his letting agents to improve his flat.

Conway, in fact, said he acted recklessly in an attempt to bring into focus his rented property so as to get the letting agents carry out improvements.

The court was also told about a long-running row between Conway and his letting agents over the flat’s condition.
