American Express payment function on SMS or Tier 4 sponsors yet to come

The Border Agency to inform sponsors, once it becomes available

6th October 2009: The UK Border Agency has implemented phase 3 of Tier 4 of the points-based system for immigration.

It is the voluntary trial period of the sponsorship management system (SMS) for Tier 4 sponsors.

The agency has enabled education providers to use the SMS. But, “American Express payment function” is not yet available.

Available information suggests the Border Agency wants the users to “be aware that the American Express payment function is not available yet”, and “unfortunately there has been a delay to the launch of the American Express payment function on the SMS”.

Expressing apologies for the delay, the Border Agency has claimed it is working with the providers to ensure that the functionality is available by mid-October. The sponsors will be informed, once it becomes available.
