Giving details, the UK Border Agency said it will prioritise the processing of visa application and the return of documents.

Customers may request this service if they are applying for a visitor visa, excluding student visas, and have traveled without difficulty in the last five years to one of the countries: UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or a Schengen country.

The UKBA said `If you have been refused a visa for any one of these countries or overstayed your visa to the UK or been removed or otherwise been required to leave the UK, the processing of your application is likely to take longer than the processing times and is unsuitable for the fast track process.

The cost of fast track is an additional Rs 4, 320, including taxes.

It added: The UKBA will fast track the processing of your application and aim to make your documents available for collection — or received by way of courier, if you have paid for this service — at the end of the next working day (day two) in Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi; at the end of the third working day in Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Kolkata and Pune; and at the end of the fourth working day in Bangalore, Cochin and Hyderabad.

`Using the fast track service does not guarantee that your visa application will be successful. All applicants must meet the requirements of the UK’s immigration rules. The fast track fee will not be refunded if the visa is refused or, in exceptional circumstances, takes longer than the processing times set out above’, the UKBA said.

For the purpose, you need to make an appointment using dedicated email addresses and telephone numbers between 08:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday only. Appointment requests received outside these hours will not be actioned. Appointments can be requested for the same day or the next working day.

In North and East India, you can call at 011 46523076; in West India at 022 30690215; and in South India at 044 32214702

There is a limited allocation of fast track slots each day. Customers are advised to schedule an appointment. Customers may attend a visa application without appointment only if there are unallocated appointments. Each visa application centre will have a submission desk clearly designated for fast track applications.

You may submit your UK visa application outside the normal opening hours at visa application centres in New Delhi, Mumbai (North and South), Chennai and Bangalore.

Applications, by prior appointment only, are between 18:00 and 20:00 in Mumbai and Delhi and 17:30 and 19:30 in Bangalore and Chennai, Monday to Friday.
