The system comes into force at  from 19 December 2011. You will no longer be able to pay at the visa application centre from this date at specified places.

The UKBA has asserted that from 19 December you must go to the visa application centre at the British Embassy in your country to submit a printed copy of the application form and biometric data — fingerprints and photograph.

Appointments to submit applications at the visa application centre at the British Embassy at some places are already booked online. `The introduction of online payments is part of a wider move to allow almost all our customers to apply and pay for their visas online by 2013/14’.

In Denmark, you must then go to the visa application centre at the British Embassy in Copenhagen; In Norway, you must go to the visa application centre at the British Embassy in Oslo.

In Finland, you need to go to the visa application centre at the British Embassy in Helsinki; It’s Stockholm in Sweden; Zagreb in Croatia; Belgrade in Serbia; Skopje in Macedonia; Ljubljana in Solvenia; and the British Embassy in Reykjavik in Iceland.
