UK resumes full visa service in Libya

The UK Border Agency has resumed visa service in Libya. The service resumed on 5th April 2012, following the closure in February 2011.

From now on, customers will be able to complete their UK visa application form online and book an appointment to attend the visa application centre (VAC) in Tripoli to submit their application and enrol their biometrics.

The visa application centre will be open from Thursday 12th April 2012. Once submitted, applications will be sent from the Tripoli VAC to the UK for processing. Full information about the application process can be found on UK Border Agency's Libya microsite.

Following the resumption of visa service Libyan customers will no longer be required to submit their visa applications in Cairo, Istanbul, Rome or Tunis.

Speaking about the resumption of the visa service, UK Border Agency Chief Executive Rob Whiteman said: “I am delighted that the UK Border Agency is once again in a position to deliver a full visa service in Libya. We believe this will help strengthen the links between our countries and we invite genuine travellers to apply for their visa at our application centre in Tripoli.”
