The UK Border Agency is carrying out changes worldwide UK to provide a more effective and flexible visa service, with more consistent customer standards and decision quality and better resilience during peak periods.
The assertion came as the UK Border Agency said it has temporarily placed under suspension the online appointment system for applicants in Kosovo; and no appointments are currently available after 9 November 2011.
The UK Border Agency said: `These changes are part of a worldwide UK Border Agency programme to provide a more effective and flexible visa service, with more consistent customer standards and decision quality and better resilience during peak periods.
Elaborating, the UKBA said it has temporarily suspended its online appointment system in Kosovo, in preparation for a change in the way they process UK visa applications.
Currently, the pleas submitted in Pristina are processed at the UKBA’s regional hub in Skopje. From 14 November 2011, these would be decided at the UKBA’s regional hub for Central and Eastern Europe, at the British Embassy in Warsaw.
The UKBA said: `To implement this change effectively, we have temporarily suspended the online appointment system for applicants in Kosovo. As a result, no appointments are currently available after 9 November 2011.
`We expect to re-open the appointment system on 10 November, with full appointments available from 14 November. We apologise for any inconvenience, and ask applicants to check availability on a regular basis.
`The visa application process in Pristina will not change from 14 November. You will still be able to apply online through our Visa4UK service and book an appointment at our visa office at the British Embassy in Pristina to submit your application form, passport and supporting documents, enrol your biometric information, and pay the visa application fee.
`Applications, passports and documents will then be taken securely by courier to Warsaw, where a decision on your application will be made. Passports and documents will be securely couriered back to our office in Pristina, where they can be collected.
`There will be no additional cost to applicants, and processing target times will not change. We aim to process most non-settlement applications within 15 working days of submission in Pristina, in line with our published customer service standards’.
