Senegal to host Miss Africa Diaspora contest

Heads of State, First Ladies and public figures will select the winner

miss-africa-diaspora-2010.jpg8th October 2010: The Miss Africa Diaspora contest will be held in Dakar, Senegal on 27th November. The organizers are currently looking for 50 beauty queens of African origin who live outside Africa to battle it out for the crown of Miss Africa Diaspora.

All the selected queens will be flown to Dakar to take part in the contest which will have as judges some Heads of State, First Ladies and public figures.

The event will be broadcasted live to several African countries. The crowning of Miss Africa Diaspora is part of the celebrations to mark the 50th Independence Anniversary of several African countries.

All girls of African origin living outside Africa can apply to vie for the crown. In order to prove that they live outside the continent, all applicants will be required to produce a copy of their ID or residence permit and passport.

Candidates must be aged between 18 and 26 years old, have a minimum height of 1.70m and must be single. They must also be of good character and without criminal record.
