Tamara Almeida, Miss World Brazil

A close-up on Miss World 2008 front-runners

25 November 2008. The 23-year old model from Minas Gerais, Tamara Almeida, was crowned Miss World Brazil on 26 July, out of 10 total candidates for the final selection. Tamara, who left her law studies to work as a model in Asia and Europe, will represent the Latin-American giant, Brazil, in Johannesburg on 13 December, competing with 110 other candidates for the Miss World title.

Brazil has been competing in Miss World for 50 years, but surprisingly its world famous beauties have been able to conquer the crown only once, with Lucia Petterle, in 1971. If past Brazilian beauty queens have made the headlines for the many plastic surgeries they had undergone, Tamara has obtained them for the opposite: she is 100% natural. She believes that by living a healthy live, exercising and eating well, she can reach her best shape, physically and mentally.

Of course, in the last three months leading to the final competition, she has had regular weekly sessions to touch up her beauty and get fitter than ever – but the Miss World crown demands that.

Let’s take a look at the dazzling looks of Miss Brazil, Tamara Almeida.
