‘Celebrating our Women as Nurturers & Leaders’ event called off

The event which was supposed to celebrate black women leaders in the UK has been cancelled. ‘Celebrating our Women as Nurturers & Leaders’ which was organised by Black Men in the Community (BMITC) was due to take place on 23rd March at BCS City Lounge.

But last week the BMITC were advised by BCS City Lounge that their venue would no longer be available for public hire.

“Attempts have been made to identify and book a suitable replacement but this has proven unsuccessful given the tight timeframe,” BMITC said. “BMITC take pride in delivering a high quality provision and we believe that the possibility of delivering an event that you deserve would have been put at risk by moving to another venue at such a late stage.”

Those who have already purchased tickets via the PayPal system will be fully refunded within three to five working days, BMITC said.

“I would like to apologise for the cancellation, especially to those who may have already made travel and accommodation plans. Unfortunately, these were circumstances which were beyond our control, so we thank you for your support and understanding,” said Tony Harrison of BMITC Secretariat.
