Finest Curry Houses and Chefs recognised at BCA Awards

The UK’s best Curry Houses and Chefs were recently celebrated and awarded at 7th Annual Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards in London.

The event organised by the Bangladesh Caterers Association, was held in the luxurious and glamorous setting of the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge, in Central London. It was a lively celebration combined with wonderful food and a variety of entertainment.

The BCA Awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the success and the strength of the UK’s best Curry Houses. The newly elected President of the BCA, Mr. Pasha Khandaker, has taken to his role with vigour, passion and determination.

“The Bangladesh Caterers Association is proud of the culinary heritage the community has built and will continue to support them moving forward,” Mr. Khandaker said.

The host, Tasmin Lucia Khan, presented the Awards in front of an audience of 1,000 guests, which included a host of Dignitaries and Parliamentarians.

Guests were entertained by Gemma K, Showmi Das Dance Company, Tridhara, Britain’s Got Talent favourite’s Signature and the soulful Ankhi Alamghir who arrived in the UK from Bangladesh especially for the BCA Awards.

The entertainment livened and complimented the warm ambience of the ballroom making the BCA Awards ceremony a memorable and inciting evening.

Guests included Nina Wadia, a favourite household name Zainab Masood from Eastenders, Mayor Lutfur Rahman, Lord Karan Bilimoria, HE Mijarul Quayes – Bangladesh High Commissioner, Anne Maine – MP for St Alban’s, Helen Grant – Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice and MP for Maidstone and the Weald, Derek Vaughan – MEP for Wales, Jonathan Shaw – former Minister for South East of England and many other MPs and MEPs who have an excellent relationship with the BCA.

Three Honour Awards were presented to Bajloor Rashid MBE, Karen Buck MP and Ashraf Uddin in recognition of their outstanding achievement in Civic Society and contribution to the curry industry.
