London event to celebrate women as nurturers & leaders

Black Men in the Community (BMITC) prepares to celebrate the role of women as social leaders and economic drivers with an exclusive high profile event in London.

The event titled “Celebrating our Women as Nurturers & Leaders” will take place on Friday 23rd March 2012 at BCS Lounge, Marble Arch Tower, 55 Bryanston Street, London W1H 7AA, from 18:30.

It will provide an eclectic mix of entertainment, canapés, professional social networking and speeches from inspiring women.

The guest speakers include: Jasmine Dotiwala – Entertainment & Media Maven; Katharine Birbalsingh – Education leader; Rhoda Wilson – Presenter of ‘The Rhoda Wilson Show’ on Ben TV; Linda Asafo-Agyei – President at Barclays Wealth; Sharon Griffiths – Service Manager, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust; Lorna Campbell – Lambeth Councillor; and Zita Holbourne – Poet and Community Activist.

With some of the UK’s leaders of industries in attendance, the evening will showcase a range of inspirational and active “doers” within Britain whose talents enable them to stand out as role models and blueprints of positive achievement.

Their individual and collective attainments represent the aspirations that this event aims to inject into an audience of peers and “future leaders” alike. This is an opportunity to be amongst some of the brightest minds within the UK Black community, a chance to listen, learn and share but ultimately to inspire all in attendance to strive forward in social and entrepreneurial growth. There will be a special tribute to Sister Sandra Hurst, Wealth Strategist.

The following artists will entertain the guests: Lovella Ellis – 2012 British Reggae Industry Awards nominee for Best Female Newcomer; Taymah – 2012 Official Mixtape Awards nominations for Best Female Artist and Best R&B Mixtape of 2011; and Baddaboom Tee – Beatboxer and former SLAMbassadors poetry champion.
