Prince of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall to meet Polish war veterans

Also to meet former President in exile of Republic of Poland

16th February 2010: Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will meet war veterans and others members of the Polish community, including former President in exile of the Republic of Poland Ryszard Kaczorowski, during an event organised by Polish Social and Culture Association on 24th February 2010.

Kaczorowski is currently putting up in London. The event begins at 3 pm with briefing for media with Amanda Foster, MVO Press Officer to The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Madam Barbara Tuge-Erecinska will later accompany them throughout his visit.

The briefing will be followed by the arrival of Lord Lieutenant of Greater London, Sir David Brewer. He will then greet Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall at the Polish Centre at 4.30 pm.

Lord Lieutenant will introduce Dr Olgierd Lalko, chairman of the Polish Centre. It will be followed by brief viewing of exhibition celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Solidarity Movement in Poland, introduced and presented by Victor Moszczynski.

At 4.45 pm, there will be a piano concert by Karol Rybarczyk. It will be followed by performance by “Syrena”, a children’s theatre Ggoup.

The event will also see Polish Saturday School present a Polish Heritage lesson for The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The guests will then be guided into Lowiczanka restaurant.

They will then meet Ryszard Kaczorowski and Polish Ex-Combatants Association, including Polish Airmen. The tea, Taste of Poland, will be hosted by the Chairperson of the Federation of Poles in GB Helena Miziniak. At 5. 50 pm, the Royal Party will depart.
