The National Diversity Awards 2014 to be televised

Those who missed the National Diversity Awards 2014 held last September can now watch it on Sky community channel.

The National Diversity Awards will be aired on 21st December at 11.00pm, Boxing Day at 10.00pm and 30th December at 21.00pm on The Community Channel which features on Sky 539, Virgin Media 233 and Freeview 63.

You are invited to join Brian Dowling and Cerrie Burnell to celebrate the Best of British Diversity over the festive season.

The lush Hurlingham Club on the brink of the River Thames was on 26th September filled with role models and charities who came together to honour Britain’s most inspirational people for their fight against inequality.

Speaking during the ceremony sponsored by Microsoft, Activist and Campaigner Peter Tatchell, a patron for the awards, said: “It is a huge honour to be a patron of the National Diversity Awards, which does such outstanding work to promote, empower, profile and acknowledge organisations that are pioneering amazing initiatives on equality and diversity issues.”

Aderonke Apata, a Nigerian asylum seeker based in Manchester received the Positive Role Model LGBT at The National Diversity Awards. She said: "I cannot thank you enough for all of your support because you made this award, other awards I have won and National recognitions I got possible. Enjoy this for Christmas and I wish you a happy New Year".
