Comedian Shazia Mirza to launch Ladies Vintage Tea Party tour

Comedian Shazia Mirza will appear at the first Ladies Vintage Tea Party fundraising at the Kensington Close Hotel in London on 29th November 2014.

Ladies Vintage Tea PartyThe event will also feature Ustadha Iffet Rafeeq and a variety of attractions including henna, stalls, giveaways and a charity auction.

On 30th November 2014, the Manor Hotel in Datchet, Slough, will host its Ladies Vintage Tea Party. Similar events will be held during December and January in Luton, Nottingham, Southampton, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Bradford and High Wycombe.

The fundraisers will be for a variety of campaigns and programmes run by Birmingham charity Islamic Help but will concentrate primarily on orphan sponsorship and its Smiles Better campaign for acid attack survivors.

Islamic Help’s orphan sponsorship programme cares for more than 2,500 orphans in Africa, Asia and the Middle East but is seeking sponsors for another 700 orphans. Its Smiles Better programme, which was featured in the Oscar and Emmy awards winning documentary Saving Face, provides medical assistance, rehabilitation and livelihood opportunities for victims – predominantly women – of acid attacks.

Please note that the Vintage Tea Party events are for ladies only, with girls aged above 10 welcome.
