`5th London International Tango Festival’ gets rolling from November 13

28th October 2009: If life in the UK is getting a bit too hectic for you, take out some time unwind yourself to the beats of pulsating music at the `5th London International Tango Festival’.

Presented by the `The Academia Nacional del Tango (UK)’ under the artistic direction of Takis Kalogroulis, the superb event is all set to take place from 13th to 15th November 2009 at the majestic Porchester Hall in Bayswater, London W2. 

You get a chance to meet your dancing and twirling compatriots at the event, if you are a foreigner in the UK. For the event features well-known dancers from Argentina and Europe. Also, once again this event is drawing members of the tango scene from all over Europe, the USA and Latin America, as well as newcomers recently inspired by the wonderful ‘Strictly Come Dancing’! The event promises you a share in the glamour, costumes and joy.

The previous London International Tango Festivals organised by the Academia Nacional del Tango (UK) have been recognised as amongst the best tango events internationally. This year the festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and is expected to be a magnificent event!

There will be a full programme of three two-hour evening shows and also two-hour matinee shows on the Saturday and Sunday. It’s not very expensive either. The ticket prices range from £25 to £40, and multiple booking discounts are available. The tickets include entrance to `The Grand Ball’, featuring all 24 dancers. It is scheduled to continue until after midnight.

You can learn too. The performers promise to give master classes and workshops during the three days of the festival, covering all levels of dancers from beginners to advance. You can in fact learn advanced techniques, including women’s advance, volcadas & colgadas and milonga & vals. Master class tickets are costing £15 for the beginners and intermediate classes. You have to shell out £25 for advanced classes.

The renowned dancers from Argentina and Europe include Osvalso Zotto and Gisele Avanzi, Takis Kalogroulis and Jane Solomon, John and Nina Krook, Eloy Prim and Analia Centurion, Hector Villalba and partner, Filippo Avignonesi and Francesca del Buono, Jorge Udrisard and Andrea Ponzetti, Andrea and Julia Ciafardini, Laszlo Budai and Maria Glotz, Eduardo del Rio and Elisa Vidal, Lucas Panero and Cintia Tinelli, and Giggio Pascualetti and Anna Zyuzina.

The music will be provided by two world-famous orchestras: El Despues Quintet and Tango for 3 and Per Arne Glorvigen, along with the well known Argentinean singer Sandra Rehder and the internationally renowned Flamenco guitarist Esteban Antonio.
