National Refugee Women’s Conference on detention will be held on 14th January 2015 from 10:30 to 16:00 at the Amnesty International Human Rights Action Centre, London EC2A 3EA.
Women for Refugee Women's new research on the treatment of women in Yarl's Wood, will be launched at the conference.
The conference will focus on what has so far done in the campaign against detention and how various organisations can work together to end detention.
The other organisations at the forefront of the campaign against detention include: the London Refugee Women’s Forum, Women Asylum Seekers Together Manchester, Women Asylum Seekers Together London, Hope Projects, Embrace and Why Refugee Women.
Inspirational speakers will address the participants. There will be and a range of workshops, including working with the media, campaigning with the arts, online campaigning, organising protests and influencing Parliament.
“You don’t have to be a refugee woman to come to this conference – this is open to everyone who supports justice and solidarity with women seeking sanctuary,” says Women for Refugee Women.
