“The Faces of Our City: Stories of Migration Past and Present” documentary to be launched in London

“The Faces of Our City: Stories of Migration Past and Present” documentary will be officially launched in London on 24th April 2014.

The Faces of Our CityThe documentary produced by Migrant Voice's is about migration to London new and old. It tells a positive story of diversity and of communities living and working together in London.
 
Mariko, a young Japanese woman, promotes community cohesion in Walthamstow; Sara delves into the diverse histories of the East End; while Simone and Ricardo support Brazilians to integrate into British society.

The documentary launch will be followed by a panel discussion on the upcoming European elections.

One of the issues to be debated is: Can migrants’ engagement in the European elections shift the balance away from anti-immigrant MEPs?

The European Commission Representative to the UK, Jackie Minor, Green MEP Jean Lambert and other speakers will address the event.

“The Faces of Our City: Stories of Migration Past and Present” documentary will be on 24th April 2014, from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm at Europe House 32 Smith Square London SW1P 3EU.
