Don’t expose it to chemicals
9th August 2011: Beauty is only skin deep. But, still worth caring.
And, when it is different from others because you belong to a family of two or more ethnicities, caring becomes all the more tough.
But, if you choose the right products, there is hardly any need for you to scratch your pretty little head with anxious fingers. That’s right! You can forget all about skin-care anxieties with the right kind of skincare stuff.
First and foremost thing for you to do is to choose organic skin care solutions, if you have a multi-ethnic skin. After all, it has varied needs.
And if you are wondering why, the reason is not really hard to analyze. Taking into consideration the exceptional nature of your multi-ethnic skin, it is vital that you should not leave it open to any chemicals.
In fact, the chemicals can change the skin’s pH and make worse adverse skin conditions. In summers alone, so many of us tend to use chemical-based sunscreens. But it is necessary for you to go in for a mineral SPF. For the ones with chemicals can actually do more harm than good.
Also remember to use formulas rich in antioxidants. They actually increase the skin’s protection against UV radiation and free radicals.
In fact, it is always advisable to use a pH-balanced formulations for restoring a mildly acidic environment.
Here are some ayurvedic tips by our Punjabi editor, Harbinder Singh (Punjab Express):
"For normal skin: mix 1 tablespoon orange juice and 1 tablespoon lemon juice in a cup of yogurt, to make a paste. Apply it on face as a mask and keep it on for 15 minutes. Then clean it off with a wet tissue. This mask enhances the complexion and glow of face."
And remember, he adds, "Rubbing a raw potato on face removes marks and pigments."
