Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

13th August 2010 : Check before you travel on August 14 (Saturday) and August 15 (Sunday) for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink on these days.

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, work that is being undertaken by LU and Tube Lines.

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

The TfL website (www.tfl.gov.uk/check) can also be checked. Before travelling the London Travel Info 24hrs telephone helpline:  0843 222 1234; and Information on posters, leaflets and “Good Service” boards at Tube stations can be checked.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend. London Underground: The Bakerloo line has no planned work this weekend.

The Circle line will be suspended between Edgware Road and Hammersmith all weekend and until services resume on Monday 16 August, due to line upgrade work and Cross rail work at Paddington.

Use alternative Tube lines and buses, or the Hammersmith and City line replacement bus service.  (See PN-180 and PN-222 Customers are reminded that the Hammersmith and City and Circle lines between Hammersmith and Edgware Road are set for three week upgrade closure.)
 
Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.
 
The Central line has no planned work this weekend. The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended all weekend between Edgware Road and Hammersmith and between Whitechapel and Barking due to line upgrade work and Cross rail work at Paddington.
 
There will be a bus replacement service for local journeys: Service A: Hammersmith – Goldhawk Road & Shepherd’s Bush Market – Shepherd’s Bush (Central line) – Latimer Road – Ladbroke Grove – Westbourne Park – Royal Oak – Paddington.
 
Passengers travelling to and from Wood Lane should use local bus services and/or the Central line service to and from nearby White City.
 
Passengers should use alternative Tube lines or local bus services on the rest of the line.
 
The Jubilee line will be suspended between Waterloo and Stanmore for line upgrade work all weekend. There will be two bus replacement services for local journeys:

Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park (stop D on nearby Honey pot Lane) – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Wembley Park – Stonebridge Park (for Bakerloo line services)

Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead – Finchley Road – Swiss Cottage – St John’s Wood – Baker St..No service between Aldgate and Uxbridge.
 
The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Aldgate and Uxbridge for upgrade work all weekend. Three Rail Replacement Bus Services will operate as follows:-

Service A: Harrow-on-the-Hill – West Harrow – South Harrow – Rayners Lane – Eastcote – Ruislip Manor – Ruislip – West Ruislip (for Central Line) – Ickenham – Hillingdon – Uxbridge

Service B: Wembley Park – Preston Road – Northwick Park – Harrow-on-the-Hill Service X:     Wembley Park – Kenton (for Bakerloo line) – Harrow-on-the-Hill

For the fastest journey between central London and stations north of Wembley Park use the Bakerloo line to/from Kenton and the replacement bus service.

Northern line trains will not be stopping at King’s Cross St. Pancras station all weekend due to station improvements works.

The Northern line service between Camden Town and Charing Cross will be suspended all weekend. Passengers should use alternative Tube and local bus services. There is a replacement bus service for local journeys:

Service A: Harrow-on-the-Hill – West Harrow – South Harrow – Rayners Lane – Eastcote – Ruislip Manor – Ruislip – West Ruislip (for Central Line) – Ickenham – Hillingdon – Uxbridge

The Piccadilly line will be suspended between South Harrow and Uxbridge all weekend. Passengers should use alternative Tube and local bus services.

There is a replacement bus service for local journeys: Service A: Harrow-on-the-Hill – West Harrow – South Harrow – Rayners Lane – Eastcote – Ruislip Manor – Ruislip – West Ruislip (for Central Line) – Ickenham – Hillingdon – Uxbridge
 
The Victoria line has no planned work all weekend. The Waterloo and City line has no planned work on Saturday. The line does not operate on Sundays.
 
London Overground: Richmond – Gospel Oak :
London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.

Gospel Oak – Stratford: London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will run, calling at all stations except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury.

Shepherd’s Bush – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction all day on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.
