Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

18th February 2011: Check before you travel on February 19 and February 20, Saturday and Sunday for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink on these days.

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme.

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary. Planned works will inevitably result in some disruption for passengers.

The Docklands Light Railway and London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend. London Underground : The Bakerloo line has no planned work this weekend. The Central Line will be suspended all weekend between Liverpool Street and Woodford and also between Liverpool Street and Newbury Park due to track replacement work.
 
Passengers should use National Rail services between Liverpool Street and Walthamstow Central or Stratford. There are four bus replacement services for local journeys:

Service A: Woodford – South Woodford – Snaresbrook – Walthamstow Central (for Victoria line) Service B: Newbury Park – Gants Hill – Redbridge – Wanstead – Snaresbrook – Walthamstow Central (for Victoria line)Service C: Snaresbrook – Leytonstone – Leyton – Stratford Service D: Leytonstone – Stratford

Latimer Road station on the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines will be closed until late April 2011.  Passengers should use local buses to/from Ladbroke Grove, Latimer Road and Wood Lane/White City bus garage
 
Blackfriars Tube station on the District and Circle lines will be closed until late this year for redevelopment works.
 
Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed for redevelopment works every weekend until mid-2012.  Customers are advised to use Bank, Mansion House or Monument stations.
 
The District line will be suspended all weekend between West Kensington and Ealing Broadway and also between West Kensington and Richmond due to line upgrade work.
 
There will be four bus replacement services for local journeys:Service A: Boston Manor (for Piccadilly line) – South Ealing – Ealing Broadway – Ealing Common – Acton Town – Gunnersbury – Chiswick Park – Turnham Green – Stamford Brook – Ravenscourt Park – Hammersmith Service B: Ealing Broadway – Boston Manor (for Piccadilly  line)

Service C: Osterley (for Piccadilly line) – Hammersmith Service D: Richmond – Kew Gardens – Gunnersbury – Chiswick Park – Turnham Green – Stamford Brook – Ravenscourt Park – Hammersmith
 
The Jubilee line will be suspended between West Hampstead and Stanmore due to line upgrade work.  Metropolitan line trains will stop additionally at Willesden Green. There are two bus replacement services for local journeys:

Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Wembley Park – Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead – Finchley Road.
 
The Piccadilly line will be suspended all weekend between Hammersmith and Northfields and between Hammersmith and Ealing Common due to line upgrade work.  There are four bus replacement services for local journeys:
 
Service A: Boston Manor – South Ealing – Ealing Broadway (for Central line) – Ealing Common – Acton Town – Gunnersbury – Chiswick Park – Turnham Green – Stamford Brook – Ravenscourt Park – Hammersmith

Service B: Ealing Broadway (for Ealing Broadway) – Boston Manor Service C: Osterley – Hammersmith Service D: Richmond – Kew Gardens – Gunnersbury – Chiswick Park – Turnham Green – Stamford Brook – Ravenscourt Park – Hammersmith
 
The Piccadilly line will also be suspended all weekend between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge. Passengers should use the Metropolitan line instead. The Northern line and Victoria Line have no planned work all weekend.
 
The Waterloo and City line will be suspended on Saturday. Passengers should use other Underground lines or local buses.The line does not operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
 
London Overground: There will be extensive engineering work taking place on the London Overground network from Saturday 19 February until Sunday 27 February 2011.

During this time an alternative train route will run on Saturday 19 February and from Monday 21 to Saturday 26 February inclusive between: Watford Junction and Stratford via South Hampstead and Camden Road.  For more information there are leaflets at London Overground stations or visit www.tfl.gov.uk  or call the London Travel Info 24hrs telephone helpline:  0843 222 1234.
 
South Hampstead – Euston : London Overground services will be suspended on Saturday between South Hampstead and Euston. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on London Underground and London Midland services to and from Euston.
 
Richmond – Gospel Oak : London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury all weekend due to planned engineering work.  Rail replacement bus services will run between Richmond and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.
 
Gospel Oak – Camden Road : London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Camden Road on Saturday due to planned engineering work. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on some Tube and local bus routes.
 
Clapham Junction – Shepherd’s Bush : London Overground services will be suspended all weekend between Clapham Junction and Shepherd’s Bush. Rail replacement buses will run, calling at all stations.
 
Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction : London Overground services will be suspended all weekend between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction, on Sunday, due to planned engineering work. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.
 
Gospel Oak – Stratford: London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Gospel Oak and Stratford. Rail replacement buses will run, calling at all stations except Caledonian Road & Barnsbury.

Gospel Oak – Upper Holloway: London Overground services will be suspended all weekend between Gospel Oak and Upper Holloway. Rail replacement buses will run, calling at all stations.
 
Sydenham – Crystal Palace :London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Norwood Junction and Crystal Palace due to planned engineering works.. Rail replacement buses will run between Norwood Junction and Crystal Palace.
