Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, Tramlink, DLR

Check before you travel on July 3 and July 4, Saturday and Sunday, for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink.

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, work that is being undertaken by LU and Tube Lines.

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

Docklands Light Railway and  London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend.

London Underground: The Bakerloo line will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone on Sunday due to Network Rail engineering work. 

London Overground will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Stonebridge Park. A replacement bus service will operate as follows: Queen’s Park – Kensal Green – Willesden Junction – Harlesden – Stonebridge Park. Between Stonebridge Park and Harrow and Wealdstone take London Overground services.

The Circle line will be completely suspended all weekend. Use alternative Tube lines and buses.

Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations. The Central line has no planned work this weekend.

 The District line will be suspended between Whitechapel and Upney between Barking and Whitechapel all weekend due to signalling upgrade work. Passengers travelling to/from West Ham, Barking and Upminster should use c2c train services from Fenchurch Street.

There are two replacement bus services for local journeys: Service A: Whitechapel – Stepney Green – Mile End (for Central line) – Bow Road – Bromley–by–Bow – Canning Town (for DLR).

Service B: Mile End (for Central line) – Stratford (for DLR and Central line) – Upton Park – East Ham – Barking – Upney. Replacement buses will not serve West Ham and Plaistow, passengers should use local buses.

 The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended between Edgware Road  and Barking all weekend due to Thameslink work at Farringdon and Crossrail work at Liverpool Street. Passengers are advised to use c2c, DLR, or alternative Tube routes, local and District line replacement buses.

 The Jubilee line will be suspended between Green Park and Stratford all weekend while line upgrade work is carried out. 

 Three bus replacement services for local journeys: Service E: Waterloo – Southwark – London Bridge – Bermondsey – Canada Water. Service F: North Greenwich – Canning Town – West Ham – Stratford.

 The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Wembley Park and Aldgate all weekend.  Passengers are advised to use the Jubilee line for travel between Wembley Park and central London. Alternatively use Chiltern Railways services between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Marylebone

 A bus replacement service will be provided during early morning and late night periods when connections are not available via Chiltern Railways or the Jubilee line train service, which will run between:  Wembley Park – Finchley Road – Baker Street.

The Northern line, Piccadily line and Victoria line  has no planned work all weekend. 

The Waterloo and City line has no planned work on Saturday. The line does not operate on Sundays.

London Overground: Queen’s Park – Stonebridge Park

 

London Overground services will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Stonebridge Park on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will operate calling at all affected stations.

 London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Saturday after 9pm. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury.

 Gunnersbury-Camden Road: London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Camden road on Saturday after 9pm. Rail replacement bus services will operate calling at all stations.

 Valid London Overground tickets will also be accepted on the following London underground routes:   District line between Gunnersbury and Embankment,  Bakerloo line between Willesden Junction and Embankment,    Jubilee line between West Hampstead and Westminster,   Northern line between Embankment and Camden Town

 Richmond – Gospel Oak: London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.

 Gospel Oak – Stratford : London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford, calling at all station except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury.

 Gospel Oak – Barking: London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking on Sunday. Rail replacement buses will operate calling at all stations.

 Shepherd’s Bush – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Saturday after 9pm and all day Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.
