Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

Check before you travel on June 12 and June 13, Saturday and Sunday for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink on these days.

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

The TfL website (www.tfl.gov.uk/check) can also  be checked . Before travelling the London Travel Info 24hrs telephone helpline:  0843 222 1234; and Information on posters, leaflets and “Good Service” boards at Tube stations can be checked.

London Tramlink has no planned closures. The Bakerloo line will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Harrow and Wealdstone on Sunday due to Network Rail engineering work. A rail replacement bus service will operate as follows: Queen’s Park – Kensal Green – Willesden Junction – Harlesden- Stonebridge Park.

The Circle line will be completely suspended all weekend due to Thameslink engineering work at Farringdon and Crossrail work at Whitechapel.  Please use alternative Tube and bus routes.

Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.

 The Central line has no planned work this weekend. Southfields station on the District line will be closed all weekend for station improvement work. A replacement bus service will operate: East Putney – Southfields

The District line will be suspended westbound between Embankment and Barking and eastbound between Embankment and Upney all weekend due to Crossrail work at Whitechapel.

Passengers travelling to/from West Ham, Barking and Upminster should use c2c train services from Fenchurch Street. There will be two bus replacement services for local journeys:

Service A: Liverpool Street – Aldgate – Aldgate East – Whitechapel – Stepney Green – Mile End (for Central line) – Bow Road – Bromley–by–Bow – Canning Town
(for Jubilee line and DLR).

Service B: Mile End – Stratford (for DLR, Central and Jubilee lines) – Upton Park – East Ham – Barking. Eastbound buses will be extended to Upney.

Hammersmith and City line trains will not be stopping at Paddington (Hammersmith & City line) station all weekend while station improvement work is carried out. Customers are advised to use the Bakerloo and District lines to and from Paddington (District and Bakerloo line) station.
 
The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking all weekend due to Thameslink engineering work at Farringdon and Crossrail work at Whitechapel. Passengers are advised to use c2c, DLR, or alternative Tube routes, local and District line replacement buses.

The Jubilee line will be suspended between Stanmore and Waterloo all weekend due to line upgrade work.

Two bus replacement services will be running for local journeys: Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Wembley Park Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead – Finchley Road

Metropolitan line trains will stop additionally at Willesden Green. The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate, Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge and between Northwood and Amersham/Chesham/Watford while track replacement and Network Rail engineering work is carried out.

There is no service on Chiltern Railways between Marylebone and Amersham. Four bus replacement services will be running for local journeys: Service A: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Chorleywood – Chalfont and Latimer – Amersham – Chesham.

Service B: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Croxley – Watford. Service C: Northwood – Moor Park. Service D: Harrow-on-the-Hill – West Harrow – South Harrow – Rayners Lane – Eastcote – Ruislip Manor – Ruislip – West Ruislip (for Central line and National Rail) – Ickenham – Hillingdon – Uxbridge.

The Piccadilly line will be suspended between Uxbridge and South Harrow.  There is a bus replacement service for local journeys: Service D: South Harrow – Rayners Lane – Eastcote – Ruislip Manor – Ruislip – West Ruislip (for Central line and National Rail) – Ickenham – Hillingdon – Uxbridge.
 
The Northern line will be suspended between Kennington and Morden all weekend due to line upgrade work.

 Customers to and from central London are advised to use National Rail services from Wimbledon and Balham where possible. There is a bus replacement service for local journeys between:
Morden – South Wimbledon – Colliers Wood – Tooting Broadway – Tooting Bec – Balham (for National Rail services to/from Victoria) – Clapham South – Clapham Common.

 For journeys beyond Clapham Common passengers should use 155 bus routes to Stockwell, for the Victoria line, and Kennington for the Northern line, northbound only.


Warren Street station on the Northern and Victoria lines will be closed all weekend for station improvement work. Customers are advised to use local buses or nearby stations.

The Waterloo and City line has no planned work on Saturday. The line does not operate on Sundays.
London Overground: Queen’s Park – Stonebridge Park

London Overground services will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Stonebridge Park on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will operate calling at all affected stations. 

Richmond – Gospel Oak: London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.
 
Gospel Oak – Stratford : London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford, calling at all station except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury.

Shepherd’s Bush – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.

Gospel Oak – Barking : London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking from 17:00 on Saturday and all day on Sunday.  A rail replacement bus service will operate calling at all stations.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR): DLR services will be suspended between Custom House for ExCeL and Beckton all day on Saturday and until 19:00 on Sunday.  From 19:00 on Sunday for the rest of the evening, DLR services will be suspended between Canning Town and Beckton.

Replacement buses will be running between: Canning Town – Royal Victoria – Custom House for ExCeL – Prince Regent – Royal Albert – Beckton Park – Cyprus – Gallions Reach – Beckton.
