Check before you travel on June 19 and 20, Saturday and Sunday, for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink.

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, work that is being undertaken by LU and Tube Lines. 

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

As well as from the TfL website (www.tfl.gov.uk/check) passengers can check before travelling via the following options:The London Travel Info 24hrs telephone helpline:  0843 222 1234; and Information on posters, leaflets and “Good Service” boards at Tube stations.

London Tramlink and Central line has no planned closures.

London Underground: The Bakerloo line will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone on Sunday due to Network Rail engineering work.

A rail replacement bus service will operate as follows: Queen’s Park – Kensal Green – Willesden Junction – Harlesden- Stonebridge Park. Between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone take London Overground services.

 The Circle line will be completely suspended all weekend due to Thames link engineering work at Farringdon and Cross rail work at Whitechapel.  Please use alternative Tube and bus routes.

Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.
 
The District line will be suspended westbound between Barking and Embankment and eastbound between Embankment and Upney all weekend due to Thameslink work at Blackfriars and Crossrail work at Whitechapel. Passengers travelling to/from West Ham, Barking and Upminster should use c2c train services from Fenchurch Street.

There will be two bus replacement services for local journeys: Service A: Liverpool Street – Aldgate – Aldgate East – Whitechapel – Stepney Green – Mile End (for Central line) – Bow Road – Bromley–by–Bow – Canning Town (for Jubilee line and DLR). Service B: Mile End – Stratford (for DLR, Central and Jubilee lines) – Upton Park – East Ham – Barking. Eastbound buses will be extended to Upney.
 
The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking all weekend due to Thameslink engineering work at Farringdon and Crossrail work at Whitechapel. Passengers are advised to use c2c, DLR, or alternative Tube routes, local and District line replacement buses.

The Jubilee line has no planned work all weekend. The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate all weekend while Thameslink engineering work at Farringdon is carried out.

On Sunday, the Metropolitan line will also be suspended between Northwood and Amersham/Chesham/Watford on Sunday while track replacement work is carried out.

There is no service on Chiltern Railways between Marylebone and Great Missenden (via Amersham) on Sunday. A bus will be running between: Great Missenden-Amersham-Beaconsfield.

Three bus replacement services will be running for local journeys: Service A: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Chorleywood – Chalfont & Latimer – Amersham – Chesham. Service B: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Croxley – Watford. Service C: Northwood – Moor Park.
 
 
The Northern line will be suspended between Kennington and Morden all weekend due to line upgrade work. Customers to/from central London are advised to use National Rail services from Wimbledon and Balham where possible.


There is a bus replacement service for local journeys between: Morden – South Wimbledon – Colliers Wood – Tooting Broadway – Tooting Bec – Balham (for National Rail services to/from Victoria) – Clapham South – Clapham Common.

For journeys beyond Clapham Common passengers should use 155 bus routes to Stockwell, for the Victoria line, and Kennington for the Northern line, northbound only.

The Piccadilly line will be suspended between Wood Green and Cockfosters and between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge all weekend.  There is a bus replacement service for local journeys:Wood Green-Bounds Green-Arnos Grove-Southgate-Oakwood-Cockfosters. Between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge passengers should use the Metropolitan line. The Victoria line has no planned work all weekend.

The Waterloo and City line has no planned work on Saturday. The line does not operate on Sundays.
London Overground: Queen’s Park – Stonebridge Park

London Overground services will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Stonebridge Park on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will operate calling at all affected stations. 
 

Richmond – Gospel Oak: London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.
 
Gospel Oak – Stratford: London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford, calling at all station except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury. 

Clapham Junction – Shepherd’s Bush: London Overground services will be suspended between Clapham Junction and Shepherd’s Bush on Sunday. Rail replacement buses will call at all stations. Valid Southern tickets will be accepted on the rail replacement buses between these stations.

Shepherd’s Bush – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.

Sydenham – Crystal Palace: London Overground services will be suspended between Sydenham and Crystal Palace on Sunday. Rail replacement buses will run.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) : DLR services will be suspended between Canning Town and Beckton all weekend.  Replacement buses will be running between: Canning Town – Royal Victoria -Custom House for ExCeL – Prince Regent – Royal Albert – Beckton Park -Cyprus – Gallions Reach – Beckton.
