Work on to improve the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

Check before you travel on May 15 and 16 Saturday and Sunday, for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink.
London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, work that is being undertaken by LU and Tube Lines.
TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

As well as from the TfL website (www.tfl.gov.uk/check) passengers can check before travelling via the following options:The London Travel Info 24hrs telephone helpline: 0843 222 1234; and Information on posters, leaflets and “Good Service” boards at Tube stations. London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend.
The Central line will be suspended on Sunday between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone due to Network Rail engineering work . Two replacement bus services will operate as follows:
Service A: Stratford – Leytonstone, non-stop.Service B: Stratford – Leyton – Leytonstone.
There are no rail replacement bus services operating between Stratford and Liverpool Street. Passengers are advised to travel via National Rail services between Liverpool Street and Stratford or use the Jubilee line between Stratford and Waterloo.
On the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines, Paddington station will be closed all weekend for station improvement work.
The District line will be suspended all weekend between Earl’s Court and Richmond/Ealing Broadway and Kensington Olympia. Replacement buses will operate from Hammersmith, see Piccadilly line entry. A replacement bus service will operate between Earl’s Court and Kensington Olympia between 0900hrs and 1900hrs on Saturday and between 0900hrs and 1800hrs on Sunday.
Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed all weekend for refurbishment work until mid 2012. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.
The Jubilee line will be suspended on Sunday between Stanmore and Waterloo. Replacement bus services will operate as follows: Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Wembley Park.
Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn –West Hampstead – Finchley Road.
Additionally Metropolitan line trains will stop at Willesden Green.Passengers travelling between stations north of Willesden Green and central London are advised to take replacement bus service C or D and change at Wembley Park or Willesden Green for Metropolitan Line train services.
Northern line trains will not be stopping at Archway and South Wimbledon on Sunday after 2200hrs while station improvement work is being carried out. Customers are advised to use nearby stations and local buses.
The Piccadilly line will be suspended all weekend between Hammersmith and Ealing Common/Northfields and also between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge. As a result there will be no direct Piccadilly line service between central London and Heathrow.
Replacement bus services will operate as follows:
Service A for local journeys: Hammersmith – Ravenscourt Park – Stamford Brook – Turnham Green – Chiswick Park – Gunnersbury (customers can connect for London Overground train services to/from Richmond at Gunnersbury) – Acton Town – Ealing Common – Ealing Broadway (customers can connect to the Central Line at Ealing Broadway) – South Ealing – Boston Manor.
Service B for journeys between central London and Heathrow: Ealing Broadway (for Central Line) – Boston Manor, non-stop. Service C: Hammersmith – Osterley, non-stop.
London Overground.Clapham Junction – Willesden Junction
London Overground services will be suspended between Clapham Junction and Willesden Junction on Sunday. Replacement buses will run, calling at all stations. Valid Southern tickets will be accepted on the buses.
Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on bus route 220 between Shepherd’s Bush Green and Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd’s Bush station and Willesden Junction.
Richmond – Gospel Oak
London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday. Passengers should use the District line.
London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Replacement buses will operate, calling at Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.
Gospel Oak – Stratford
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford every day until Tuesday 1 June. Replacement buses will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford, calling at all affected stations except Caledonian Road & Barnsbury station. Passengers should take the 153 bus from Caledonian Road & Barnsbury (Hemingford Road) to join the replacement bus service at Holloway Road Tube station instead.
Gospel Oak – Barking. Services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses which will run in both directions between: Gospel Oak (bus stop at station) – Upper Holloway – Crouch Hill – Harringay Green Lanes – South Tottenham – Blackhorse Road – Walthamstow Queen’s Road – Walthamstow Central – Leyton Midland Road – Leytonstone High Road – Wanstead Park – Woodgrange Park – Barking.
The East London line
Dalston Junction – New Cross Gate. On Saturday a limited preview service will be running between 07:00hrs and 20:00hrs. On Sunday a limited preview service will be running between 08:00hrs and 20:00hrs. Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has no planned work this weekend.
