Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

Check before you travel on May 22 and May 23, Saturday and Sunday for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink on these days.

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, work that is being undertaken by LU and Tube Lines.

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

The Bakerloo line will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone on Sunday due to Network Rail engineering work. A rail replacement bus service will operate as follows: Stonebridge Park – Harlesden – Willesden Junction – Kensal Green – Queen’s Park.

The Circle line will be suspended all weekend for track replacement work. A rail replacement bus services will operate as follows: Hammersmith – Goldhawk Road/ Shepherd’s Bush Market – Shepherd’s Bush(for the Central line) – Latimer Road – Ladbroke Grove – Westbourne Park – Royal Oak – Paddington – Edgware Road – Baker Street.

The District line will be suspended between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road all weekend for track replacement work. Please use alternative Tube lines and buses.

Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.

The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended between Hammersmith and Baker Street all weekend for track replacement work.

A rail replacement bus service will operate as follows: Hammersmith – Goldhawk Road/ Shepherd’s Bush Market – Shepherd’s Bush (for the Central line) – Latimer Road – Ladbroke Grove – Westbourne Park – Royal Oak – Paddington – Edgware Road – Baker Street.

The Jubilee line will be suspended between West Hampstead and Stanmore on Sunday for line upgrade work. The following rail replacement bus services will operate as follows: Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Wembley Park – Baker Street. Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead – Finchley Road.
 
The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Aldgate to Harrow-on-the-Hill/Watford on Sunday.
 Tube services between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge will operate every 30 minutes and between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Amersham (fast to Moor Park) every 15 minutes, supplemented by an hourly Chiltern (Aylesbury – Marylebone) train service.

In addition there will be a Chiltern Railways shuttle from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Marylebone which will operate every 30 minutes. The Chesham Tube shuttle will operate every 30 minutes to and from Chalfont and Latimer.
Customers travelling to Wembley Arena are advised to use Chiltern services from Marylebone to Wembley Stadium station.

The following rail replacement bus services will operate: Service A: Wembley Park – Preston Road – Northwick Park – Harrow-on-the-Hill  Service B: Harrow-on-the-Hill – North Harrow – Pinner – Northwood Hills – Northwood  – Rickmansworth – Croxley – Watford.

The Piccadilly line will be suspended between Wood Green and Cockfosters all weekend for track replacement work. A rail replacement bus service will operate as follows: Wood Green – Bounds Green – Arnos Grove – Southgate – Oakwood – Cockfosters. 

Piccadilly line trains will not be stopping at Earl’s Court on Sunday due to escalator work. Customers are advised to use the District line or local buses.

The Northern line will be suspended between Kennington and Morden all weekend for line upgrade work. A rail replacement bus service will operate as follows: Morden – South Wimbledon – Colliers Wood – Tooting Broadway – Tooting Bec – Balham – Clapham South – Clapham Common.

Customers to/from central London should use National Rail services from Balham to Victoria, the Victoria line from Stockwell or the District line and National Rail services from Wimbledon.
 
Northern line trains will not be stopping at Archway on Sunday after 10pm while station improvement work is being carried out. Customers are advised to use nearby stations and local buses.

Warren Street station is closed all weekend for station improvement work. Customers are advised to use local buses or nearby stations.

London Overground: Watford Junction – Euston: London Overground services will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Stonebridge Park on Sunday. Rail replacement bus services will operate calling at all affected stations. An amended train timetable will operate between Watford Junction and Stonebridge Park and between Queen’s Park and Euston on Sunday. 

Gospel Oak – Stratford: London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford all weekend. Rail replacement bus services will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford, calling at all station except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury.

Richmond – Gospel Oak: London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gospel Oak on Sunday. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton. 

Clapham Junction – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.
 
Gospel Oak – Barking :London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking from 5pm on Saturday. Services will also be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking all day on Sunday.  A rail replacement bus service will operate calling at all stations on both days.

East London Line: Dalston Junction – New Cross Gate: On Saturday a limited preview service will run between 7am – 8pm.
Dalston Junction – West Croydon: A full service from Dalston Junction to West Croydon commences on Sunday 23 May. Docklands Light Railway (DLR) has no planned closures. London Tramlink has no planned closures.
