Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

Check before you travel on May 29 (Saturday), May 30(Sunday) and Spring Bank Holiday on May 31 (Monday) for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink on these days.

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, work that is being undertaken by LU and Tube Lines.

TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

London Tramlink has no planned closures.The Bakerloo line has no planned work this weekend.

The Central line will be suspended on Saturday, Sunday and Spring bank holiday Monday between North Acton and Ealing Broadway for track replacement work. A replacement bus service will operate for local journeys: Ealing Broadway – Ealing Common (for Piccadilly line), West Acton – North Acton.

Paddington station on the Circle and Hammersmith and City lines will be closed on Saturday, Sunday and  Monday for station improvement works.

Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.

The District line will be suspended between Ealing Broadway and Turnham Green on Saturday, Sunday and Spring Bank Holiday Monday for track replacement work. Please use alternative Tube lines and buses.

The District line will be suspended on Saturday, Sunday and Spring Bank Holiday Monday between Plaistow and Dagenham East for signalling upgrade work. The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended all day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday the Spring bank holiday, between Whitechapel and Barking for signalling upgrade work. 

Please use c2c services where possible between Fenchurch Street – West Ham – Barking – Upminster.

There will be two bus replacement services for local journeys: Service A: Barking – Upney – Becontree – Dagenham Heathway – Dagenham East. Service B: Plaistow – Upton Park – East Ham – Barking.

The Jubilee line will be completely suspended on Monday, Spring bank holiday, for line upgrade work. The following replacement bus services will be operating: Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Wembley Park – Stonebridge Park (for the Bakerloo line)

Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill –  Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead –  Finchley Road – Swiss Cottage – St. John’s Wood – Baker Street.

Service E: Waterloo – Southwark – London Bridge – Bermondsey – Canada Water.Service F: North Greenwich – Canning Town – West Ham – Stratford. Additionally there will a regular boat service North Greenwich – East India Pier to serve the Lady Gaga concert at The 02 from 16:00 until midnight.

The Metropolitan line will be suspended on Saturday and Sunday between Northwood and Watford/Amersham and Chesham due to track replacement work.  Chiltern Railways on Saturday and Sunday will have no service between Marylebone and Great Missenden.

There will be three replacement bus services for local journeys: Service A: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Chorleywood – Chalfont and Latimer – Amersham – Chesham. Service B: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Croxley – Watford. Service C: Northwood – Moor Park.

The Metropolitan line will be suspended on Monday, Spring bank holiday, between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the-Hill  and between Northwood and Watford/Amersham and Chesham due to track replacement and line upgrade work.  Chiltern Railways has no service between Harrow-on-the- Hill and Great Missenden on Monday the spring bank holiday.

Chiltern Railways will be operating a twenty minute service from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Marylebone and passengers are advised to use this service to get to and from central London. There are four replacement bus services for local journeys:

Service A: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Chorleywood – Chalfont & Latimer – Amersham – Chesham. Service B: Northwood – Rickmansworth – Croxley – Watford. Service C: Northwood – Moor Park.

Service G: Harrow-on-the-Hill – Northwick Park – Preston Road – Wembley Park.The Piccadilly line has no planned work this weekend.

Northern line trains will not be stopping at King’s Cross St. Pancras station on Saturday, Sunday and Monday while station improvement work will be carried out. Customers are advised to use nearby stations, other lines and local buses.
 
On the Northern and Victoria lines, Warren Street station is closed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday for station improvement work. Customers are advised to use local buses or nearby stations.

The Waterloo and City line has no planned work on Saturday.  This line is always closed on Sundays and bank holidays.  

London Overground: Gospel Oak – Stratford : London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Saturday, Sunday and on Monday the Spring bank holiday. Rail replacement bus services will run between Hampstead Heath and Stratford, calling at all stations except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury.

Richmond – Gospel Oak: London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gospel Oak on Sunday and Monday the Spring bank holiday. Customers are advised to use the District line between Richmond and Gunnersbury. Rail replacement bus services will operate between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.

Clapham Junction – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction on Sunday and Monday the Spring bank holiday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.

Gospel Oak – Barking : London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking from 3.30pm on Saturday, all day on Sunday and entire day on Monday the Spring bank holiday.  A rail replacement bus service will operate calling at all stations on both days.

Docklands Light Railway (DLR) DLR will be suspended between Custom House for ExCel – Beckton all day on Saturday and on Sunday 30 until 7pm. DLR services will be suspended between Canning Town – Beckton from 7pm on Sunday and entire day on Monday the Spring bank holiday.
 
There will be a replacement bus service running between: Canning Town – Royal Victoria – Custom House for ExCeL – Prince Regent – Royal Albert – Beckton Park – Cyprus – Gallions Reach – Beckton.
