 Work on to improve Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR 29th October 2010: Check before you travel on October 30 and October 31, Saturday and Sunday for work is on to improve the Tube, London Underground and London Tramlink on these days. London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme.

 TfL is urging all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.Planned works will inevitably result in some disruption for passengers. The Docklands Light Railway and London Tramlink have no planned works this weekend. London Underground: The Bakerloo line has no planned work this weekend. The Circle line will be completely suspended all weekend due to track replacement work . Passengers should use alternative Tube lines or buses.

Cannon Street station on the District and Circle lines will be closed every weekend until mid 2012 for redevelopment works. Customers are advised to use Mansion House and Monument stations.  The District line will be suspended all weekend between Parsons Green and Wimbledon due to signalling work.

There are two bus replacement services: Service A: West Brompton – Fulham Broadway – Parsons Green – Putney Bridge – East Putney – Southfields – Wimbledon Park – Wimbledon. Service B:  Hammersmith – Putney Bridge – Wimbledon. 

The District line will also be suspended all weekend between Embankment and Barking/Upney due to track replacement work: Service C:  Liverpool Street – Aldgate – Aldgate East – Whitechapel – Stepney Green – Mile End (for the Central line) – Bow Road – Bromley-by-Bow – Canning Town. Service D:  Mile End (for the Central line) – Bow Road – Stratford – Upton Park – East Ham – Barking.

Eastbound buses will be extended to Upney. The Hammersmith and City line will be suspended on Saturday between Edgware Road and Barking due to track replacement work and on Sunday between Liverpool Street and Barking.  Passengers should use District line replacement buses C and D shown above.  The entire Jubilee line will be suspended on both Saturday and Sunday morning until approximately 9.30am to allow testing. Replacement buses will be available. 

In addition the line will be suspended on Saturday between Green Park and Stratford for line upgrade work. There will be two bus replacement services for local journeys: Service E: Waterloo – Southwark – London Bridge – Bermondsey – Canada Water.

Service F: North Greenwich – Canning Town – West Ham – Stratford.A replacement boat service will run from North Greenwich (for The O2) to East India (for nearby East India and Blackwall DLR stations).

It will operate from 9 am to 10 pm. The Metropolitan line will be suspended on Saturday between Baker Street and Aldgate and on Sunday between Moorgate and Aldgate for track replacement work.  Passengers should use alternative Tube lines and or buses. The Piccadilly line, Victoria line and Northern line have no planned work this weekend.

The Waterloo and City line has no planned wok on Saturday.  The line does not operate on Sundays and Bank Holidays.  London Overground: Richmond – Gospel Oak: London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday. Passengers should use the District line.  

London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday due to planned engineering work. Rail replacement bus services will run between Richmond and Gospel Oak, calling at all stations except South Acton.

Gospel Oak – Stratford: London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday due to planned engineering work. Rail replacement bus services will run, calling at all stations except Caledonian Road and Barnsbury.

Shepherd’s Bush – Willesden Junction: London Overground services will be suspended between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction all day on Sunday due to planned engineering work. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on local bus routes 220 and 228.

Clapham Junction: All London Overground trains arriving and departing from Clapham Junction on Sunday until 4 pm are diverted to Platform 17.
