London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend
7th October 2009: Check before you travel on Saturday and Sunday 10 and 11 October 2009, as work is on to improve the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR.
London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme, as such TfL has urged all Londoners and visitors to the city to “check before they travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

London Tramlink has no planned work this weekend.
The Bakerloo line has no planned work this weekend.
The Central line will be suspended on Sunday between Liverpool Street and Leytonstone for Olympic development works at Stratford. Customers travelling to/from central London are advised to use alternative Tube and bus routes. Valid LU tickets will be accepted on National Rail services between Liverpool Street and Seven Kings, although customers using Oyster pay as you go will be able to use these tickets on National Rail services between Stratford and Liverpool Street only.
A limited replacement bus service will also operate, for local journeys, as follows:
Service A: Stratford – Leyton – Leytonstone
On the Central line, Wanstead station will close early every evening, from 21:00, until mid-October 2009 to facilitate the continuation of the improvement works. Passengers should use nearby Leytonstone, Snaresbrook and Redbridge stations, which are approximately a 10-15 minute walk away. Alternatively, regular bus services serve Wanstead station with the 66 and 145 bus routes following the Central line between Redbridge and Leytonstone stations. Valid London Underground tickets will be accepted on all local bus routes.
St Paul’s station on the Central line is only open for exit only between 0730 and 1000 on Mondays to Fridays until late October. This is due to escalator maintenance work.
Circle and District line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for Blackfriars are advised to use nearby Temple or Mansion House stations and/or local bus route 388. Or they can use London River Services during peak times; piers are a short walk from London Bridge, Tower Hill, Embankment, Westminster and Blackfriars stations.
The District line will be suspended all weekend between Barking and Upminster for track replacement work. Also, there will be no c2c Rail services between Barking and Pitsea via Laindon due to Network Rail engineering work. Passengers should use the following replacement buses:
Service A: Barking – Upney – Becontree – Dagenham Heathway – Dagenham East
Service B: Barking – Dagenham East – Elm Park – Hornchurch – Upminster Bridge – Upminster
C2c Replacement Bus: Barking – Upminster – West Horndon – Laindon – Basildon – Pitsea
The Hammersmith & City line will be suspended between Plaistow and Barking for track replacement work. Use alternative Tube or local bus routes.
The East London line is closed for major extension work until summer 2010.
The Jubilee line will be completely suspended on Saturday and on Sunday the line will be suspended between West Hampstead and Stanmore for line upgrade works. Use alternative Tube, local bus routes or the following replacement buses:
Service C: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Preston Road– Wembley Park
Service D: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead – Finchley Road
Service E: Bank – Monument – London Bridge – Bermondsey – Canada Water
Saturday only – Replacement boat service 0600 – 0000
East India Pier (for Blackwall and East India DLR stations) – North Greenwich Pier (for The 02)
The Metropolitan line will be suspended all weekend between Rickmansworth and Amersham /Chesham for track and signalling work. Chiltern Railways trains are also suspended all weekend between Marylebone and Great Missenden. A replacement bus service will operate as follows:
Service A: Chesham – Amersham – Chalfont & Latimer – Chorleywood – Rickmansworth
Chiltern Railways will operate a Rail Replacement Bus Service between Great Missenden and Beaconsfield, calling intermediately at Amersham.
Hyde Park Corner station on the Piccadilly line will be closed after 22:00 Sundays to Thursdays and before 06:00 Mondays to Fridays until 30 October for station improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services.
Hounslow East Piccadilly line station will also be closed for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to neighbouring stations.
Northern line trains will not be stopping at Clapham North and Tooting Bec stations from 22:00 every evening Sundays to Thursdays until 26 November because of station improvement works. Please use existing local bus routes.
Camden Town station on the Northern line will operate as exit and interchange only every weekend between12:00 noon and 16:30 until mid October because of escalator works. Please use nearby Mornington Crescent or Chalk Farm stations. Customers will be able to buy tickets at Camden Town during this time.
Colliers Wood station on the Northern line will be closing early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday and before 06:00 Mondays to Fridays until 23 December for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Tooting Broadway or South Wimbledon.
Northern and Victoria line trains will not stop at Warren Street station all weekend while the station is closed for improvement works. Passengers should use nearby Goodge Street, Great Portland Street or Euston stations and existing local bus services.
The entire Victoria line is suspended on Saturday for line upgrade works. Use alternative Tube, local bus and National Rail routes where possible.
Rail replacement bus services operate:
Service A: Between Walthamstow Central and Manor House (for Piccadilly line), calling at all intermediate Victoria line stations.
Service B: Between Victoria and Brixton calling at all intermediate stations.
The Waterloo & City line has no planned work on Saturday. There is no Sunday service.
Richmond to Stratford line
London Overground services will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday. Passengers are advised to use the District line instead.
London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday only. Replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Replacement buses, which will run between Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak – Kentish Town West – Camden Road – Holloway Road (for Caledonian Road & Barnsbury) – Highbury & Islington – Canonbury – Dalston Kingsland – Hackney Central – Homerton – Hackney Wick – Stratford.
Gospel Oak to Barking
London Overground will be suspended between South Tottenham and Barking on Saturday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses which will run between: South Tottenham – Blackhorse Road – Walthamstow Queen’s Road – Leyton Midland Road – Leytonstone High Road – Wanstead Park – Woodgrange Park – Barking.
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking from 17:00 on Saturday and all day on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses, which will run between: Gospel Oak –Upper Holloway – Crouch Hill –Harringay Green Lanes – South Tottenham – Blackhorse Road – Walthamstow Queen’s Road – Leyton Midland Road – Leytonstone High Road – Wanstead Park – Woodgrange Park – Barking.
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Watford Junction and Harrow & Wealdstone. Replacement buses will run between Watford Junction – Watford High Street – Bushey – Carpenders Park – Hatch End – Headstone Lane – Harrow & Wealdstone.
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Harrow & Wealdstone and Willesden Junction. Passengers should use London Underground’s Bakerloo line.
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on bus route 220 between Shepherd’s Bush Green and Willesden Junction and on the 228 between Shepherd’s Bush station and Willesden Junction.
Docklands Light Railway is suspended between Stratford and Lewisham all weekend. There will be two replacement bus services running:
Stratford – Pudding Mill Lane – Bow Church – Devons Road – Langdon Park – All Saints – Westferry – Canary Wharf – South Quay – Crossharbour – Mudchute – Island Gardens
