Works on to improve the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR

London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme. The work will be undertaken by London Underground and Tube Lines.

London Tramlink and Docklands Light Railway have no planned work this weekend.
The Bakerloo line will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Willesden Junction on Sunday due to Network Rail engineering works. A replacement bus service operates Queen’s Park – Kensal Green – Willesden Junction.
The Central line has no planned work this weekend.
The Circle line will be completely suspended this weekend for track replacement work. Please use alternative Tube and bus routes.
Circle and District line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for Blackfriars are advised to use nearby Temple or Mansion House stations and/or local bus route 388. Or they can use London River Services during peak times; piers are a short walk from London Bridge, Tower Hill, Embankment, Westminster and Blackfriars stations.
The District line will be suspended all weekend from Tower Hill to Upney (eastbound) and from Barking to Tower Hill (westbound) for track replacement work. Use c2c services where possible.
The Hammersmith & City line will be suspended all weekend between King’s Cross St. Pancras and Barking for track replacement work. Three rail replacement bus services will operate:
Service A: Between Tower Hill and Stratford, calling at Aldgate, Aldgate East, Whitechapel, Stepney Green, Mile End, Bow Road (for DLR connection at Bow Church), Bromley-by-Bow, Canning Town (for DLR connection) and Plaistow
Service B: Between Tower Hill and Barking, calling at Aldgate, Aldgate East, Whitechapel, Stepney Green, Mile End, Canning Town (for DLR connection), Upton Park and East Ham. Eastbound buses are extended to operate to Upney.
Service D: Between Stratford and East Ham calling at Upton Park. This service operates from 09:00 until 20:30 hours only.
Passengers travelling between central London and West Ham, Barking and Upminster are advised to use c2c train services to and from London Fenchurch Street.
Passengers travelling between central London and Elm Park, Hornchurch or Upminster Bridge are advised to use c2c train services travelling via Upminster.
Passengers travelling between central London and stations between Stepney Green and East Ham are advised to use DLR services from Bank/Tower Gateway interchanging at Bow Church or Canning Town, or use Central line services from Bank or Liverpool Street interchanging at Mile End or Stratford.
The East London line is closed for major extension work until summer 2010.
The Jubilee line will be suspended all weekend between Waterloo and Stanmore, and between North Greenwich and Stratford for line upgrade works. Use alternative Tube, local bus routes or the following replacement buses:
Service C: Between Stanmore and Stonebridge Park (Baker Street on Sunday, this service will not stop at Stonebridge Park on Sunday), calling at Canons Park, Queensbury, Kingsbury and Wembley Park.
Service D: Between Wembley Park and Baker Street, calling at Neasden, Dollis Hill, Willesden Green, Kilburn, West Hampstead, Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage and St John’s Wood.
Service F: Between North Greenwich and Stratford, calling at Canning Town and West Ham.
A replacement boat service will operate North Greenwich – East India Pier for the DLR
The Metropolitan line will be suspended all weekend between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Aldgate for track and signalling work. Chiltern Railways will operate additional trains between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Marylebone, providing four trains per hour over this section for most of the weekend.
Passengers travelling between Harrow-on-the-Hill and central London must use Chiltern Railways to and from Marylebone, except before 0730 southbound and after 2330 northbound, when they are advised to travel via Rail Replacement Bus Service B. Two rail replacement bus services will operate:
Service A: Between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Wembley Park, calling at Northwick Park and Preston Road. This service is designed for local passengers.
Service B: Between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Stonebridge Park. This service operates very early morning southbound and late night northbound.
Passengers travelling between Uxbridge branch stations and central London are advised to use the Piccadilly line.
Piccadilly line trains will not be stopping at King’s Cross St. Pancras on Sunday only, due to engineering work. Use alternative Tube lines to King’s Cross St. Pancras.
From Sunday 1 November, Archway station on the Northern line will be closing early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursdays until May 2010 for modernisation work. But the station will revert to full opening times between 24 December 2009 and 2 January 2010. Valid tickets will accepted on local buses between Highgate and Tufnell Park.
Northern line trains will not be stopping at Clapham North and Tooting Bec stations from 22:00 every evening Sundays to Thursdays until 26 November because of station improvement works. Please use existing local bus routes.
Colliers Wood station on the Northern line will be closing early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday and before 06:00 Mondays to Fridays until 23 December for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to and from Tooting Broadway or South Wimbledon.
Northern and Victoria line trains will not stop at Warren Street station all weekend while the station is closed for improvement works. Passengers should use nearby Goodge Street, Great Portland Street or Euston stations and existing local bus services.
The Waterloo & City line has no planned work on Saturday. There is no Sunday service.
Richmond to Stratford line
London Overground will be suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday only. Passengers are advised to use the District line instead.
London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday only. Replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday. Replacement buses, which will run between Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak – Kentish Town West – Camden Road – Holloway Road (for Caledonian Road & Barnsbury) – Highbury & Islington – Canonbury – Dalston Kingsland – Hackney Central – Homerton – Hackney Wick – Stratford.
Gospel Oak to Barking
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking all weekend. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses, which will run between: Gospel Oak –Upper Holloway – Crouch Hill –Harringay Green Lanes – South Tottenham – Blackhorse Road – Walthamstow Queen’s Road – Leyton Midland Road – Leytonstone High Road – Wanstead Park – Woodgrange Park – Barking.
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on bus route 220 between Shepherd’s Bush Green and Willesden Junction and bus route 228 between Shepherd’s Bush station and Willesden Junction.
Willesden Junction to Euston
London Overground services will be suspended between Willesden Junction and Queen’s Park. Valid London overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses which will run between: Willesden Junction – Kensal Green – Queen’s Park.
London Overground services will be suspended between Queen’s Park and Euston. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the following London Underground services: Bakerloo line between Queen’s Park and Embankment;Northern line between Euston and Embankment;Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines between Baker Street and Euston Square.
