25th September 2009: Check before you travel on Saturday and Sunday on 3 & 4 October 2009 as works is on to improve the Tube, London Overground, London Tramlink and DLR as London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme.

London Underground
 
The Bakerloo line will be suspended on Sunday between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone stations, due to Network Rail engineering work.  A rail replacement bus service will operate between Stonebridge Park and Harrow & Wealdstone calling at all intermediate stations. See London Overground arrangements below.
 
Marble Arch station on the Central line will be closed all weekend.  Customers should use local bus services to/from Lancaster Gate or Bond Street.
 
On the Central line, Wanstead station will close early every evening, from 21:00, until mid-October 2009 to facilitate the continuation of the improvement works. Passengers should use nearby Leytonstone, Snaresbrook and Redbridge stations, which are approximately a 10-15 minute walk away.  Alternatively, regular bus services serve Wanstead station with the 66 and 145 bus routes following the Central line between Redbridge and Leytonstone stations. Valid London Underground tickets will be accepted on all local bus routes.
St Paul’s station on the Central line is only open for exit only between 0730 and 1000 on Mondays to Fridays until late October.  This is due to escalator maintenance work.
Circle and District line trains will not be stopping at Blackfriars station until late 2011 due to Network Rail engineering work. Customers for Blackfriars are advised to use nearby Temple or Mansion House stations and/or local bus route 388. Or they can use London River Services during peak times; piers are a short walk from London Bridge, Tower Hill, Embankment, Westminster and Blackfriars stations.
 
The District line will be suspended all weekend between Barking and Upminster for track replacement work. Also, there will be no c2c Rail services between Barking and Pitsea via Laindon due to Network Rail engineering work.  Use the following replacement buses:
 
Service A: Barking – Upney – Becontree – Dagenham Heathway – Dagenham East
Service B: Barking – Dagenham East – Elm Park – Hornchurch – Upminster Bridge – Upminster
C2c Replacement Bus: Barking – Upminster – West Horndon – Laindon – Basildon – Pitsea
 
The Hammersmith & City line will be suspended between Plaistow and Barking. Use alternative Tube, DLR or local bus routes.
 
The East London line is closed for major extension work until summer 2010.
 
The Jubilee line will be suspended on Saturday between Waterloo and Stanmore and on Sunday the whole line will be suspended for line upgrade works. Use alternative Tube, local bus routes or the following replacement buses:
Service C –Saturday only: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury –Preston Road – Wembley Park – Stonebridge Park (For the Bakerloo line)
Service C – Sunday only: Stanmore – Canons Park – Queensbury – Kingsbury – Preston Road– Wembley Park – Baker Street
Service D – all weekend: Wembley Park – Neasden – Dollis Hill – Willesden Green – Kilburn – West Hampstead – Finchley Road – Swiss Cottage – St. John’s Wood – Baker Street.
Service E – Sunday only: Bank – Monument – London Bridge – Bermondsey – Canada Water
Service F – Sunday only: North Greenwich (for The 02) – West Ham – Canning Town – Stratford
 
A replacement boat service will also operate on Sunday only from 1300 – 2300 serving both North Greenwich Pier and East India Pier (for East India and Blackwall DLR stations)
 
The Metropolitan line will be suspended between Aldgate and Harrow-on-the–Hill for signalling works. Passengers travelling between central London and the Uxbridge branch should use the Piccadilly line.  Passengers travelling between central London and stations between Preston Road and Amersham / Watford should use Chiltern Railways trains via Marylebone and change if necessary at Harrow-on-the-Hill. Two replacement bus services will operate as follows:
Service A: Harrow-on-the-Hill – Northwick Park – Preston Road – Wembley Park
Service B – early morning and late evening only: Harrow-on-the-Hill – Stonebridge Park (for Bakerloo line) on Saturday only. Harrow-on-the-Hill –Baker Street on Sunday only.
 
Hyde Park Corner station on the Piccadilly line will be closed after 22:00 Sundays to Thursdays and before 06:00 Mondays to Fridays until 30 October for station improvement works. Passengers should use Green Park & Knightsbridge stations or existing local bus services.
 
Northern line trains will not be stopping at Clapham North and Tooting Bec stations from 22:00 every evening Sundays to Thursdays until 26 November because of station improvement works. Please use existing local bus routes.
 
Camden Town station on the Northern line will operate as exit and interchange only every weekend between12:00 noon and 16:30 until mid October because of escalator works. Please use nearby Mornington Crescent or Chalk Farm stations. Customers will be able to buy tickets at Camden Town during this time.
 
Colliers Wood station on the Northern line will be closing early from 22:00 Sundays to Thursday and before 06:00 Mondays to Fridays until 23 December for improvement works. Passengers should use existing local bus services to from Tooting Broadway or South Wimbledon.
 
 Northern line trains will not stop at King’s Cross on Sunday owing to station modernisation works. Passengers should use alternative Tube and bus routes.
 
Warren Street station on the Northern and Victoria lines will be closed on Sunday for station modernisation works.  Passengers should use alternative Tube and bus routes                                                                                                      
 
The entire Victoria line is suspended on Saturday for line upgrade works.  Use alternative Tube, local bus and National Rail routes where possible.
Rail replacement bus services operate:
Service A: Between Walthamstow Central and Manor House calling at all intermediate Victoria line stations.
Service B: Between Victoria and Brixton calling at all intermediate stations.
 
The Waterloo & City line has no planned work on Saturday. There is no Sunday service.
 
London Overground

London Overground services will suspended between Richmond and Gunnersbury on Sunday.  Passengers are advised to use the District line instead.
 
London Overground services will be suspended between Gunnersbury and Gospel Oak on Sunday only.  Replacement buses will run between Gunnersbury – Acton Central (for South Acton) – Willesden Junction – Kensal Rise – Brondesbury Park – Brondesbury – West Hampstead – Finchley Road & Frognal – Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak.
 
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Stratford on Sunday.  Replacement buses, which will run between Hampstead Heath – Gospel Oak – Kentish Town West – Camden Road – Holloway Road (for Caledonian Road & Barnsbury) – Highbury & Islington – Canonbury – Dalston Kingsland – Hackney Central – Homerton – Hackney Wick – Stratford.
 
Gospel Oak to Barking
London Overground will be suspended between South Tottenham and Barking on Saturday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses which will run between: South Tottenham – Blackhorse Road – Walthamstow Queen’s Road – Leyton Midland Road – Leytonstone High Road – Wanstead Park – Woodgrange Park – Barking.
 
London Overground services will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Barking from 17:00 on Saturday and all day on Sunday. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on the replacement buses, which will run between: Gospel Oak –Upper Holloway – Crouch Hill –Harringay Green Lanes – South Tottenham – Blackhorse Road – Walthamstow Queen’s Road – Leyton Midland Road – Leytonstone High Road – Wanstead Park – Woodgrange Park – Barking.
 
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Watford Junction and Harrow & Wealdstone. Replacement buses will run between Watford Junction – Watford High Street – Bushey – Carpenders Park – Hatch End – Headstone Lane – Harrow & Wealdstone.
 
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Harrow & Wealdstone and Queen’s Park. Replacement buses will run between:  Harrow & Wealdstone – Kenton – South Kenton – North Wembley – Wembley Central – Stonebridge Park – Harlesden – Willesden Junction – Queen’s Park.
 
London Overground services will be suspended on Sunday between Shepherd’s Bush and Willesden Junction. Valid London Overground tickets will be accepted on bus route 220 between Shepherd’s Bush Green and Willesden Junction and on the 228 between Shepherd’s Bush station and Willesden Junction.
