Check before you travel this weekend

Works to improve the Tube, London Overground and DLR for weekend 25 & 26 April 2009

20th April 2009: London Underground (LU) is undertaking a major programme of renewal as part of Transport for London’s Investment Programme.  The work will be undertaken by London Underground and Tube Lines.  This bulletin now also includes information about the London Overground network and Docklands Light Railway.

Tube, London Overground and Docklands Light Railway improvement works will inevitably result in some disruption for passengers, but TfL is working hard to provide information and alternative travel options. The work is essential to provide for London’s growing transport needs now and into the future.

TfL is urging all Londoners and Tube, London Overground and DLR passengers to “check before you travel” at weekends, allowing extra journey time where necessary.

TfL’s Improvement Works media bulletin is issued weekly and summarises all the forthcoming weekend’s work and provides links to more detailed information.

London Overground is a train service acquired by Transport for London in November 2007.

Over £1.4bn is being invested in upgrading and extending this network which will require extensive engineering works during the next three years.
