Miss Uganda UK to unveil contestants

All the most beautiful Ugandan girls in UK will be present

miss-uganda-ukteam1.png11th February 2009: The Miss Uganda UK 2009 Team will unveil the contestants for Miss Uganda UK 2009 crown in the “Meet the Contestants Bash” at Club Volts, London’s VIP Lounge on Valentines’ weekend on Sunday, 15th February.

After an overwhelming response from potential Miss Uganda UK 2009 Queens, all registered contenders for the crown will be lined-up and presented to the media and general public for the first time.

The contestants will be assessed by an experienced panel of judges who will then pick 15 finalists to qualify for the 13th June Miss Uganda UK 2009 Grand Finale.

The event will be hosted by Nancy Kitaka, who is the official Miss Uganda UK 2009 hostess.

There will be performances from a selection of UK-based Ugandan artistes and a highly entertaining, vibrant contemporary dance troupe. It will be exclusively Ugandan music on the night played by renowned Ugandan DJ Dan Luv together with Club Volts’ DJ Ken, DJ/VJ OJ alongside MCs Paddy Dee and Jemo.

Doors open at 8.00PM.

miss-uganda-ukteam2.pngMiss Uganda UK is working towards supporting charities in Uganda, “We will be working with a chosen charity organisation based in Uganda every year. We will support them through awareness to the people in UK and Europe as well as help them raise money,” Miss Uganda UK Event Director Joyce Church explains.

“Every year the Miss Uganda UK winner will be holding a Charity Fundraising Dinner in Kampala and all proceeds will go to our chosen charity which will also benefit from a lot of awareness that we will be raising during our build-up events.”

The Miss Uganda UK 2009 finals will be held on 13th June at the prestigious Troxy which is also home to Miss England. All contestants get free membership to Club Volts, London, the home of all Miss Uganda UK 2009 build-up events.
