Boris Johnson: Tough visa rules hurting London economy

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has denounced the Government’s immigration policy saying that tough visa requirements are damaging the London economy.

Mr. Boris told the Evening Standard that the tough visa rules were preventing universities and City employers from recruiting the best talent from abroad.

“We are losing a massive business opportunity,” the Evening Standard quoted Mr. Boris to have said. He added that it was “completely crazy” for Britain to be “closing itself off from some of the best and brightest students from around the world”.

Mr. Boris said people don’t understand the logic behind excluding talented people from coming to the UK.
