Conference on Supporting Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Women on Violence and Trauma

The Evelyn Oldfield Unit will host a free conference on Supporting Refugee and Asylum-Seeking Women on Violence and Trauma on 12th June 2014 at 356 Holloway Road, N7 6PA, London.

The conference which is only meant for women, will take place from 10:00 to 15:00.

It has been set up to reflect on the state of the sector for refugee and asylum-seeking women around issues of violence and trauma.

Issues that will be discussed include: Changes in the sector; Disseminating good practice; Sharing learning; Exchanging research; and Encouraging collaboration.

There will be a market place showcasing refuge women’s projects and mainstream/statutory projects related to the topic.

The conference will be addressed by a variety of speakers including Keynote Professor of Sexualised Violence at London Metropolitan University, Liz Kelly.
