15th March 2011: Earthquake and tsunamis has hit the visa services in Tokyo.
The UK Border Agency has announced the temporary closure of the UK visa application centre in Tokyo following the disruptions.

The UKBA has asserted: `Due to disruptions caused by the earthquake and tsunamis, the UK visa application centre in Tokyo has been temporarily closed until further notice.

`We advise those applying in Tokyo to check our local website for details of the impact on visa services, alternative application arrangements and regular updates:
