Event for Refugee women and mainstream Domestic Violence Groups to be held in London

The Evelyn Oldfield Unit will host a special event designed to bring together mainstream women’s projects with refugee women’s projects around the theme of supporting refugee women on  domestic violence.

The event will be held on 17th April 2014 at the Bishop Creighton House, 374-380 Lillie Rd, London, SW6 7PH, from 10:00 to 17:00.

The morning will give a platform to refugee women advocates to speak about the current issues in their community (with a focus on violence).

The afternoon will be a facilitated creative engagement event where refugee women and mainstream women’s services come together to look at: Provision on offer; Improving connections, referrals and communication; Facilitating future work; and Building access to services.

Although this is taking place in Hammersmith, it is not a local event and is designed for groups working anywhere in London.

This event is open to female representatives from interested London-based mainstream agency representatives and refugee/asylum-seeking women from community organisations who wish to build connections/new DV projects.

This is a free to attend event. To register, visit the Evelyn Oldfield Unit’s link.

If you are interested to attend or talk, please contact Sarah Menzies on [email protected]  or call 020 7697 4102.
