Government to reduce dependence on migrant workforce

Not just to reduce their numbers, but also the need for having them

29th June 2010: The new government has decided to gradually reduce dependence on the migrants.

This was indicated by Home Secretary Theresa May while announcing a cap on the number of immigrants entering the UK.

With this it is clear that the new government intends not just to reduce their numbers but also the need for migrant workers.

The Home Secretary also indicated at making the British more reliant and get them “back to work”, besides providing business with the required skills from the resident workforce.

Quoting May, the UK Border Agency asserted: ‘The government will also introduce measures to support British people. Alongside limits will be action to get Britain back to work and provide business with the skills they need from the resident workforce – reducing the need for migrants at the same, time as we reduce their number.’
