Planning UK visit over Christmas period, apply by 1 December

Visa applicants intending on travelling to the UK over the Christmas period will need to submit their application by 1 December 2011, the border force has asserted.

If you submit a visa application at the British High Commission Fajara, Gambia, after 1 December 2011, your application may not be processed in time for travel over the Christmas period.

This is due to the 15 working days required for processing of non settlement visa applications.

The Border Agency has also asserted biometrics enrolment centres in New Zealand will close on 23 December 2011 for the Christmas and New Year holidays, and will reopen on 4 January 2012.

The visa processing hub in Manila, where the New Zealand visa applications are processed, will also be closed during this time.

If you require a visa to travel in December and January you are strongly advised to submit your application as soon as possible. We aim to process all non-settlement visa applications within 15 working days.
