Seven smugglers in a boat

Suspected immigrants abandoned their vessel, but were seized later. 14 October 2008. Seven suspected immigrants abandoned their boat at Stone Bay, Broadstairs, yesterday morning.
Later the same day, police officers arrested them at the town’s railway station.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said that the men, aged between 17 and 26, were in custody on Monday afternoon and will be dealt with by the UK Border Agency.

The seven immigrants came ashore at around 6.30 am and were spotted by a dog walker.
Emergency services took action, seized them, but it was not clear where the men began their journey. Anyway, their vessel was dragged back to Ramsgate harbour.
