UKBA calls for proposals for European Refugee Fund 2011

Fund for organisations setting up projects for assisting resettlement of refugees 11th March 2011: Aimed at organisations setting up projects for assisting resettlement of refugees through the Gateway Protection Programme, the UK Border Agency has called for proposals for the European Refugee Fund (ERF) 2011.
The UKBA said eligible applicants include non-governmental organisations, charities, local government, inter-governmental organisations, limited companies and any partnership made up of these organisations.

Project proposals from local, regional and national organisations would be considered.

A maximum of £4.5 million, £3 million from the European Refugee Fund and £1.5 million from the UK Border Agency, is available annually to fund the management and delivery of various activities during the period 1 June 2011 to 31 May 2014.

It can be in either or both of the following areas: Pre-arrival services in identified third countries, including migration health assessments and travel arrangements, for selected refugees to the UK; and/or post-arrival services including sourcing and provision of accommodation and 12 months’ casework support to a minimum of 100 refugees per year.
