Give immigrants their due

Emma Sayle’s joke on Facebook leads to controversy of sorts 4th January 2011: Even as the police have made it clear events organiser Emma Sayle, known to be Kate Middleton’s friend, will face no further action on her joke about `shooting illegal immigrants’, larger issue of giving the immigrants their due remains.
It is now amply clear that the immigrants contribute to not just the economy, but also the society. Still, the issue of the society fusing them within its folds remains.

Sayle’s joke on the Facebook about ‘shooting illegal immigrants’ had only recently brought to the fore the issue. The police received a complaint, after the joke did not go down well with the readers.

In fact, she was interviewed under caution by police after she posted the online message.
Sayle, 32, was formally questioned by police after officers received the complaint, but will face no further action.

Sayle became friends with Kate after persuading her to sign up for a charity boat race in 2007.

Catherine Elizabeth "Kate" Middleton is the fiancée of Prince William of Wales. Since their relationship began, Middleton has received widespread media attention.

On 16 November 2010, the office of the Prince of Wales at Clarence House announced their engagement. On 23 November, it was announced the wedding would take place on 29 April 2011 at Westminster Abbey, with the day declared a bank holiday.
