Over 120,000 secure part-time jobs in last quarter
16 November 2009: If you are a woman from outside looking for a job in the UK, here’s a reason for you to put on a smile.
The data from the Office for National Statistics indicates recession is hitting hard at men, while the women in the UK are better placed.
In fact, an increasing number of women are bagging jobs, as compared to men. The data from the Office for National Statistics carried in the Daily Star reveal over 120,000 women secured new part-time jobs in the last quarter, while 50,000 men were left jobless. Rather, the current number of employed men in Britain was the lowest in the last 10 years.
The statistics also reveal women have been landing up with jobs in education and health sectors, where the personnel have actually increased in the last quarter.
