Government urged to grant amnesty to all irregular immigrants who have been in UK for 10 years

A petition urging the UK Government to grant amnesty to all irregular immigrants who have been living in the country for 10 years is receiving overwhelming support.

Launched by Steve Parker, the petition states: “The UK has voted to leave the EU and needs all hands available to contribute to the nation’s development. If illegal immigrants who are already in the UK are granted amnesty, they will play a major role in the development of the country.”

It further states: “An amnesty could also yield additional millions of pounds sterling a year from Income Tax and National Insurance.”

The petition has already been signed by 31,990 people. Since the UK Government normally responds to all petitions that get more than 10,000 signatures, a response to this petition is expected anytime from now.

Once the petition gets 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate in Parliament.
